HEALTH CAMPUS USM EXPLORE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC COLLABORATION WITH AL-TURATH UNIVERSITY, IRAQ

USM, KUBANG KERIAN, KELANTAN, 12 October 2025 — Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Health Campus today hosted an international delegation from Al-Turath University (TU), Iraq, as part of a visit aimed at exploring potential collaborations in academic and research initiatives between the two (2) institutions.

The discussion session was attended by representatives from the School of Medical Sciences and School of Dental Sciences. Both parties viewed the engagement as a positive step towards establishing future joint ventures in education and research.

During the visit, the TU delegation was also taken on a tour of several key teaching and learning facilities, including the Tissue Bank, lecture halls, laboratories, Interactive Gallery for Medical Sciences (SPICES) and Advance National Honey Landmark (AnNaHL).

Representing the Campus Director, Health Campus was the Dean of the School of Medical Sciences, Professor Dr. Kamarul Aryffin Baharuddin, together with other academic and administrative representatives.
