MTSF 2024 PROMOTION TOUR HELPS PLAN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

USM KUBANG KERIAN, KELANTAN, 30 April 2024 – As one of the research universities in the country, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) recognizes all the important roles played by science and technology in shaping the future of healthcare and improving the quality of human life in the world. However, the main obstacle for researchers is the financial factor that slightly affects their interest in continuing research.

It all grist to the mill when Toray Group (Malaysia) (TGM) once again proved that they are among the main leaders in helping the development of science and technology in Malaysia by holding the 'Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) Promotional Roadshow 2024 for MTSF Science and Technology Award' (STA) and 'Science and Technology Research Grants' (STRG).

Located in the Dewan Persidangan Kampus, Health Campus USM, nearly 40 participants among researchers and students attended to listen to the presentation delivered by TGM representative, Ayano Yamazaki about the grant offered.

Through MTSF, which is known for its commitment to promoting scientific research and innovation, three (3) grant initiatives have been offered, namely category A- 'Science and Technology Award', category B- 'Science and Technology Research Grant' and category C- 'Science Education Award' ' at the same time opening funding opportunities for USM researchers for collaborative projects in various fields of science and technology.

Also present was the Director of the Molecular Medicine Research Institute representing the Campus Director, Health Campus USM, Associate Professor Dr. Aziah Ismail, MTSF Board Member and Chairman of the Selection Committee,Professor Dr. Yong Hoi Sen and TGM Senior Consultant, Dato' Hun Keng Kuan.
