PPSP LAUNCHES ACADEMIA MONTH 2024 WITH SPARKTALK CHALLENGE
USM, KUBANG KERIAN, KELANTAN, 30 October 2024 – The School of Medical Sciences (PPSP), Health Campus, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) kicked off Academia Month 2024 with its inaugural SPARKTalk Clashing Cluster Challenge, showcasing research talent from various clusters on 23 October 2024.
The event featured 18 participants who delivered five-minute presentations in a TEDTalk-inspired format, highlighting cutting-edge research across multiple disciplines. Winners of the challenge were announced during the OSCAR Academia event on 28 October 2024.
Designed for academicians and research students, the event aimed to inspire innovation, promote collaboration and generate tangible research outcomes. The diverse perspectives presented were intended to foster teamwork within the school.
The SPARKTalk Clashing Cluster Challenge showcased PPSP’s dedication to redefining academic competition, focusing on concise presentations that encourage discussion and interdisciplinary collaboration. The event captivated the audience, highlighting the remarkable talent of PPSP’s lecturers.
The event was officiated by the Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation) PPSP, Associate Professor Dr. Asrenee Ab Razak. Also present were Deputy Dean (Academic, Career and International) PPSP, Professor Dr. Kamarul Aryffin Baharuddin; Deputy Dean (Postgraduate Studies and Professional Training) PPSP, Professor Dr. Irfan Mohammad; Chairperson of Academia Month 2024, Professor Dr. Liza Sharmini Ahmad Tajudin and the SPARKTalk Event Coordinator, Associate Professor Dr. Wan Faiziah Wan Abdul Rahman
